Valentine's Day!

Rogie's altered chipboard heart...

Bella's "Heartthrob" card and layout...

Carter's blue, green and orange card and layout...

Love Day is just around the corner! This year has been really fun preparing for the special day. My daughter Bella is in kindergarden and through all her years watching Mommy crafting she has definately picked up an interest. She is making everyone in her class a special bookmark full of hearts, hearts, hearts! I'll be sure to post a pic. when she finishes this big job off. I love how she has also picked up on the fact that crafting can be a very good way of doing something special for someone else...and that just feels good :)
I made completely different layouts for Bella and Carter this year hoping to relect their very own personalities. Carter is full of energy and excitement and his most fav. thing right now is Mario Bros. on Wii. I used bright blue, green, and orange for his layout and card to try and reflect this the best I could. Bella is a princess! Her fav. flower is a rose and anything pink and beautiful she is more than happy to put in her room. I used the "Heartthrob" CTMH stamp set and the "Raspberry Tart" SU paper collection for her. Now I only hope I can remember to snap a good pic. of each of them on 2.14.10!
The other pics are of an altered chipboard heart that I did for My Valentine, My hubby Rogie. I covered it in paper and used rub on's and some more chipboard to decorate it. Something different than another card :)
Hope you enjoy and maybe even get some inspiration for your Valentine's Day projects :)

The Value of CTMH!

I completed the Twitterpated Workshop over this past week. Wow! The amount of projects I completed for the $40.00(ish) it cost is unbelievable. And, I still have more paper and embellishments left over for a few more cards and maybe even another layout! I have put up some pics. of everything I did...

I love this embelishment from the ribbon that comes with the workshop package. It's the skinny little one that has white stitching. Cut about 6 times the length you want to end up with, and just hold onto one end of the white stitching and pull the chocolate, scrunching it together...

These are the cards from the workshop guide. Here's hoping I can meet some crafty ladies soon here in Airdrie AB. to have an actual card club and make some more of these cuties ;)

Gotta love the value of CTMH! Have a great day ladies :)

Bella's Headboard

...a little about Bella. She is my beautiful daughter who loves everything PINK. She's also kind and gentle with babies(real or plastic), puppies, and her little brother(for the most part :-). She has a strong, stubborn personality that I totally admire. It's a challenge everyday right now, for example in the morning when she won't agree on anything I suggest for her to wear, TO KINDERGARDEN! But I know it will take her to the stars and above when she's grown. She has had a few rooms in her almost 5 years of life and now that we've settled in our new home I am so excited to give her a room to grow in, imagine in, inspire in, and love for a long, long time.

This was Bella's headboard. It really was beautiful. My husband and I found it at an adorable little store in Langley B.C. called http://www.thepassionatehome.com/. It was my first of many visits in the store and immediatly thought of Bella when I saw it. It's constructed out of an old fireplace mantel. How original is that I thought! The thing that bothered me about it from the start was the shades of the colours. The white was too creamy compaired to the Benjamin Moore Cloud White moldings in the room and the pink didn't match either. Also, it had little details in gold and black that we could use with out too. Three years later, two days ago, it got a new paint job and went from this...

close up of the new "SWEET DREAMS"...

to this...
Now it's painted BM Cloud White like the moldings, and the new SWEET DREAMS is a perfectly soft match to the walls Powdered Blush from Behr. Bella loves it and only requests I add some polka-dots, and flowers...we'll see :) Now all we have to do to complete Bella's new room is paint her armoire, closet, and spruce up her chandelier from her last room, my fav. project!

This is Bella(and Polo), ain't she pretty!

Final Touches

These are a few layouts that I FINALLY put the final touches on and can now be added to their albums. They were started before my CTMH days, hense the unfamiliar paper for some of you. I'd love to hear what you think of my art?

I used raw chip board for these letters for a natural, kinda sandy look...

I love buttons, even the cracked one I used here...

This was an idea that I scraplifted from an old scrapbooking mag. Great way to use up the strips leftover after some layout projects...

Cute Cards

Some cute little cards using the Creative Basics paper and idea. The Waxy Flax on the lion and giraffe are adhesed with liquid glass, so easy!

Animal Cookies Workshop

This is the idea in the guide...

I have been all about Animal Cookies the last little while! I know, I know, I should be off and running with the beautiful new Autumn papers and accessories...but I'm a little behind, LOL! This was actually my very first layout using a WOTG guide and I really enjoyed it...how easy is that!! I look forward to finding a group of ladies in my new community to do some more workshops like this one :) Here's my redition of the guides layout...
